In celebration of the release of their newest album, we’re so proud to collaborate with The Band of Heathens on our newest offering: The Simpler Things Blend. Hand-selected by the members of the band, this collaboration blend boasts a balance of hearty granola body with an intense punch of citrus.
ABOUT THE BAND OF HEATHENS
The Band of Heathens are an Austin, Texas-based rock group known for their gritty and determined approach to independent music-making. Led by dual lead vocalists and songwriters Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist, the band has been making music together for over 17 years. Despite offers from major labels, the band has retained complete ownership of their catalog and built their audience one show at a time. With a sound that draws on influences ranging from The Rolling Stones to The Band, The Band of Heathens are a must-listen for fans of classic rock and roots music.
ABOUT THE ALBUM
Band members Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist turned the pitfalls of a crippling pandemic into ten of their most hopeful and inspiring songs yet for Simple Things, released on their own BOH Records. They sing about everything from not letting the bad times beat you down (“Don’t Let the Darkness”) to an appreciation for the little things in life (“Simple Things”), hanging on when nothing seems to be going in your favor (“Heartless Year”) and the importance of family (“All That Remains”), all the while helping to chart a better path forward for themselves and society as a whole as we navigate a new normal.
A TRIP TO AUSTIN
After performing last year at the Bluesberry Festival in Covington, LA, we had the pleasure of hosting the band after they stumbled into our little cafe, Haven Coffee & Cocktails. Not very much time had passed before our shared passion for music and coffee showed us that we absolutely needed to partner on a blend. After several meetings and cuppings, the Simpler Things Blend was born and we were given the honor of visiting with the band in Austin for South by Southwest. We’re so proud of this collaboration and so thankful for the hospitality shown to us by the band. Check out below for a full photo gallery of our team’s trip to Austin.
