Desta Meja is a coffee producer in Ethiopia now collaborating with our good friends at Café Kreyol on processing experiments and quality development while expanding his knowledge of coffee cupping and sensory evaluation. Through this partnership, Desta is conducting processing trials while learning how post-harvest decisions influence cup quality. This collaboration strengthens quality consistency while supporting long-term sustainability and producer empowerment.

Coffee is selectively harvested and dried on raised beds, allowing consistent airflow and gradual moisture reduction. Current efforts focus on refining drying practices and processing methods while building knowledge of quality evaluation and feedback from roaster to producer. Working directly with producers like Desta Meja allows Café Kreyol to invest in long-term partnerships that improve quality, technical knowledge, and economic stability at origin while bringing distinctive coffees to market.
